From one perspective, I expected it to be disappointing not attending FOSDEM this year. Now, looking at the photos and posts, I'm genuinely feeling down - not because of FOMO - but due to a sense of guilt for not being able to rearrange my commitments to attend. Let's aim for next year!

So many feelings:
Filled with excitement at the prospect of finally meeting many inspiring people I’ve been corresponding with for months on the Fediverse.
Just missing my family already: my 4 year old called after me from the balcony when I left and cried a little (it was a bit dramatic). I need to bring back cool FOSDEM swag to her (and a cute stuffed animal, too, ideally).

If you're interested:
* Provide a printed snippet of your fingerprint (gpg-key2ps)
* I will send you the signing to your email (instead of uploading them to key servers [gpg-mailkeys])
* You can find my key at https://gpg.gyptazy.com and you're allowed to upload them to key servers.
* Have you passport / ID card with you to validate your identity
* I'll probably be mostly in the #BSDDevroom but you can also ping me on Matrix

For various reasons I unfortunately will not be at #FOSDEM this year. But next year I will be there. I will now cry myself to sleep.
When I booked my train for #FOSDEM in November I was intimidated: will I feel like a fish out of water, since I'm not a developer?
Around that time @ilja recommended I check out @yunohost.
On Dec 17 I signed up for a VPS, installed #YunoHost and in the span of a month I'm now running:
1) a #GoToSocial instance @elena
2) my own #Pixelfed @ele
3) a #LinkStack
4) a #Ghost blog (upcoming)
So I'm a little less intimidated (but still a newbie).
Excited to connect with so many familiar faces 😊
