linuxusers.in is a Fediverse instance that uses the ActivityPub protocol. In other words, users at this host can communicate with people that use software like Mastodon, Pleroma, Friendica, etc. all around the world.

This server runs the snac software and there is no automatic sign-up process.

    @Principia@hachyderm.io FYI I’ve seen people ( @box464 is the first who comes to mind) report that they were able to migrate their Mastodon posts over to a self-hosted GoToSocial instance using the SLURP tool - with a few exceptions / caveats. Worth looking into!

    A basic 5 Euros a month VPS + could allow you to set up your GoToSocial account in a few clicks… if you wanted to preserve your archives

      Good morning Fedi friends!

      My challenge this week: attempting to work a bit in a house where we are 4 adult caretakers and 3 children under 5.

      Yesterday while my little one was belatedly painting Easter eggs with grandma, I managed to install – I’m not even sure how that happened! Never mind, I know: the ease of (thank you @yunohost) ❤️

      I got up at 6am today to squeeze in a couple of hours of work before everyone wakes up.

        December 22, 2024: I installed on my Debian VPS thanks to → @elena

        February 22, 2025: I installed on my Ubuntu VPS using command lines (so many sudo commands!)

        April 22, 2025: I upgraded my Debian VPS and installed !

        Very excited about this new chapter in my adventures... and I need to find a worthy challenge for June 22 🤗

            ✨ Timeline cleanse - edition ✨

            I’ve done some improvements to my LEGO office, adding plants and film/photography equipment to the roof. Plus better support for the sticker on the computer monitor.

            OK not exactly realistic because… no shelter from the elements, but I’m experiencing a bricks shortage due to the construction of an airport and a pizzeria for my 4-year-old 😅

            The rainbow walls were her idea ❤️

              As soon as my 4-year-old got home from pre-school and saw the stickers she decided to put one on the “monitor” of my office. So here we go 🤗

                Good morning Fedi friends!

                I started the week in the best possible way: lunch with two @yunohost team members. I was trying hard not to fangirl too much 🤗

                I thanked them profusely for their incredible work, empowering us all with the tools to self-host. It's thanks to that I have my own , and accounts. I hope I'll be able to give back one day.

                      Today marks the 2-month anniversary of my journey: on Dec 17 I signed up for a VPS and installed mastodon.social/@_elena/113667

                      I have never felt more empowered, tech-wise, than in the past two months. I set up my own , and instances. Seeing the label "admin" next to my name always makes me smile.

                      Today I will sign up for a 2nd VPS (that runs on Ubuntu) and manually install . Wish me luck!

                          This has become a unofficial fan account. Look at all the apps they empower me to self-host!

                          For the record, I installed YunoHost on my VPS on December 17th, so it’s been less than 2 months. And I’ve already run (and survived) app updates.

                          Next week I get to meet the team in Paris - thrilled at the opportunity to thank them IRL 🤗

                            When I booked my train for in November I was intimidated: will I feel like a fish out of water, since I'm not a developer?

                            Around that time @ilja recommended I check out @yunohost.

                            On Dec 17 I signed up for a VPS, installed and in the span of a month I'm now running:
                            1) a instance @elena
                            2) my own @ele
                            3) a
                            4) a blog (upcoming)

                            So I'm a little less intimidated (but still a newbie).
