OK, the niggles in the March 2025 Pixel update so far that I haven't found a fix for:

    • Speech to text utterly fails for extended periods -- doesn't even return after a reboot.

    • The "Do Not Disturb" button in Quick Settings is now buried under a "Modes" roll-up button -- no way to restore the original behavior, per Pixel support.

    • Now when the phone is locked, it doesn't show the upper-left app icons that show what kind of messages came in. Only visible when I unlock. I can see why folks might want that, but I want to disable that.

Anyone know how to "ungroup" the new "Modes" group in Pixel Quick Settings? I didn't ask to be grouped and it is irritating as heck. The purpose of Quick Settings is to be ... quick. 😐 Making "Do Not Disturb" a two-action action is especially user-hostile.

Edit: uh ... you can't ... turn it off?!

Oh, and since there are more than four or five modes ... you may have to scroll down to change some of them.

The now less-quick settings include Do Not Disturb, Bedtime, Driving, Event, and Sleeping.

What part of "Quick Settings" did three layers of UI review ICs and managers not understand?

Edit 2: After a 30-minute support chat session in which it was clear that the support team got no documentation or training about the March 2025 update, and proving with four screenshots that the Modes button is now the only way to reach "Do Not Settings":

I have reviewed the details of your feedback and have submitted it directly to the Google engineering team. Software fixes and feature updates are typically included in our monthly releases. We sincerely appreciate you bringing this to our attention, and we are hopeful that your desired functionality will be restored in a future update.
