@BoxyBSD was always for BSD based systems only. I focussed to push the whole BSD community and to encourage people to try BSD based systems (such like . , , etc.) but I'm not sure if it might provide more value to the whole community by also supporting systems (such like , , , and more).

I'm not sure if the project still provides a value for the community right, now.

      What do you think?

I'm not sure what happened, but ever since updating my #swaywm-running #ThinkPad x260 to #Debian #Trixie, the fonts in the #foot terminal look a lot smaller by default.

None of the configs have changed.

This is supposed to be 12 point. Does it look like 12 to you?

A screenshot of my terminal's new default font size, with the line defining the font and size from the foot.ini config file viewed in neovim:

font=JetBrainsMono Nerd Font Mono:size=12,Noto Color Emoji:size=14

Honestly, a yearly #Debian upgrade would be heavenly.

That, or find some wonky way to put the entire GUI/DE in flatpak. XD

Another #poll for my #Debian peeps:

When in the stable release lifecycle do you upgrade from stable to testing?

Please leave a comment if none of the options apply, like if you upgrade to testing after a certain number of freezes take place, or just right before the stable release, or whatnot.

            I *always* run testing:1

@syntaxseed @Zenie If you install you can create/run lightweight system containers (or VMs).

So you can use whatever base distro you want and spin up a system container replicating your existing Ubuntu (or whatever) servers.

I like to use as my base for pretty much everything these days due to reproducibility, but i still experiment with server software in or system containers.

                            Eh...

It's a rolling release, so it's got that going for it, but a lot/most of their custom utilities (such as the package manager) is still on Python 2, which is... not good.

/usr/bin/python is even a symlink to python2 which is really not good.

Small team. Looks like the original dev, who started a new distro, is going to re-work a lot of those things, which will be the basis for Solus going forward, so there's a lot of hope for newer and better utilities.

To be clear, my only real complaint so far is the python2-ness of it.

Also, they don't have a ksh package (which some of my scripts require), but I managed to compile the standard ksh2020.

                            I don't know if I will stay. #Python2 is kind of a deal-breaker.

Still slowly replicating my #KDE #Plasma setup from my work #Debian box. I have a lot of custom keybinds that make it a little more like i3/sway for me.

My other options are Debian testing, #FreeBSD (probably will lose the ability to run KSP), or #OpenSuSE tumbleweed (if they can ever just enable polkit by default, already).
