How can I get rid of this pop up? (ubuntu, kde)

Hey y’all. The other day I thought I installed a Konsole theme called Calm Eyes, but it seems my PC is still trying to install it (and getting nowhere). This Discover pop up has been on my screen for over an hour.

I looked in Discover again and it says I can install the theme now but I just want it to go away.

How can I remove this pop up / any trace of the Konsole theme at this point? Thanks!

Help for searching a new distro

Hi everyone. I have an old ASUS S56C and I use it everyday for web (Firefox) and graphic design (Photoshop with Bottles, Inkscape). I have used for years Lubuntu, and it was all good with LXDE ambient, but with the latest versions it switched to LXQT and with snaps I don’t feel it comfortable anymore.

So, I’m looking for another easy weight distro, no fancy, only for Firefox, Bottles and Inkscape. I’m opened to any suggestions. Thanks in advance to everyone.

user trying out a new text editor 😅🥹

You want to try Emacs. Other programmers praise it for how you can do pretty much anything from it. You try it and find it makes you much more productive, so you keep using it. One day, you notice you cannot access the system's file explorer. It is not a problem, however. You can access your files from Emacs. You try to use Firefox. It is not installed anymore. But you can use Emacs. There is no mail program. You just use Emacs. You only use Emacs. Your computer boots straight into Emacs. There is no Linux. There is only Emacs.

We techies really are nerds living in our own little bubble. Every time I talk to friends outside of IT, they just laugh at the things we take for granted. In our world, it’s completely normal to assume that everyone has their own domain, self-hosts everything, avoids anything proprietary like it’s the plague, and probably has a dozen side projects running on some self-built server in their closet.

But then there’s my friend, a mechanic, who finds this absolutely hilarious. To him, it’s like expecting every car mechanic to not only have their own repair garage at home but also to manufacture their own tools and, while they’re at it, maybe even start their own car brand. It sounds ridiculous when you put it that way - but to us, that’s just how things should be!
