I had to modify my FreeBSD - OpenSMTPD blog post because of this: forums.freebsd.org/threads/ope

Upgrading one of my servers led to a broken setup.

Found graphics/drm-66-kmod landed on main (aka latest) branch of ports tree on FreeBSD.
            cgit.freebsd.org/ports/commit/

But supported only on fairly recent main branch of FreeBSD base (aka -Current) at least for now.
I've posted some info at forums.freebsd.org.

I'm pleased to announce that my company, Prodottoinrete Group SRL, will be a BRONZE SPONSOR of EuroBSDCon 2025.

The organizers do a great job managing everything, and the least we can do is offer a (small) contribution to help the conference maintain the current standards, which, in my opinion, are extremely high.

So, a big thank you to the organizers, the speakers, and everyone who contributes to making this event so great.

Hello, I am a Dell R630. I’m a few years old, but I’ve never been used. Stefano brought me along to finally get me running. I’ll be running FreeBSD, some VMs, and a few jails. With some new disks, I’ll serve Nextcloud to my owners and make everyone happy.

The image shows the front panel of a Dell PowerEdge R630 server. The panel includes a set of control buttons (with arrows and checkmark icons) and a label for the server model "PowerEdge R630." Below, there's a hard drive labeled "SATA 1TB 7.2K." The server appears to be newly unpacked and is surrounded by bubble wrap.

I have some strange and annoying problem with my @frameworkcomputer 16 notebook: Since a few months, when the notebook is running non-stop for a few days, the touchpad and the keyboard stop responding. The keyboard is responding again after a few seconds but not the touchpad.

Only after the notebook has been shut down for a day or so, the touchpad starts responding again but not if it is powered down only for a few minutes.

Framework support has sent a replacement touchpad which shows the same behaviour and they otherwise are not helpful at all. They just keep asking the same questions, do not care to read my replies and tell me it is because I am running and this is "not a supported Linux distro" (sigh...).

Does anybody have any idea what could be the problem?

I have been quite happy with the notebook but this kind of customer support experience is really frustrating...

                        Hey fam,
I have started using Kagi search, and am already loving their lens feature.

If you are unfamiliar, it's a way to focus your search beyond, "search the entire fracking index for this one thing," and so far really handy.

You can of course, make your own, so I want to make a FreeBSD-centric lens.

Any sites anyone can think to include in such a beast? Obviously, the FreeBSD site and handbook, man pages, freshports, etc. I'll also include @vermaden 's site, and some other BSD blogs.

I'm looking for suggestions here. Sites that have good FreeBSD content.

I'll share the lens when I have something useful put together.

That'll get setup a little later probably using ALE and COC but I'm not 100% just yet ? I might even push my config to my git repo to share or allow others to show me the error of my ways.

Right solved my issue having to rebuild drm-61-kmod every time there is an update until it is finally built against 14.2. All I had to do was add the following to the bottom of this file /usr/local/etc/pkg/repos/FreeBSD.conf :

                                        FreeBSD-kmods: {
                                        url: pkg+https://pkg.freebsd.org/${ABI}/kmods_latest_${VERSION_MINOR},
                                        signature_type: "fingerprints",
                                        fingerprints: "/usr/share/keys/pkg",
                                        mirror_type: "srv",
                                        enabled: yes,
                                        }
                                        Then :
                                        doas pkg update
                                        doas pkg upgrade
                                        Warning
I'm using the Latest repository so adjust the above to suit.

                                                    Hey users!

You probably already know me by my free @BoxyBSD project and I often got asked about IPv4 addresses. Currebtly, I tinker with a new but also honestly not free service. The idea is creating a static IP service for homelab users. I'm aware that there're already some around, so what could be some benefits here?

                                                    - Static single & /48 (so you can subnet your homelab to several /64 without breaking )
                                                    - Bigger subnets (IPv4: /29, /28, /27 | IPv6: /32)
                                                    - Full RIPE personalization (inc. abuse & Co)
                                                    - , , Support
                                                    - Auto configure (e.g., you load the wireguard config on any client and the addresses Arena immediately bound to that interface)
                                                    - Split usage / multiple tunnels: Use different IPs from your subnets at different locations
                                                    - Integration into
                                                    - Location in Germany or Netherlands (selectable)
                                                    - Hosted on redundant nodes

                                                    Pricing:
                                                    - The starter package probably around 10€/month (not more) + 15€ setup including 2T traffic
                                                    - Pricing for addiriinal/larger subnets not yet sure, probably higher setup fees to avoid hoppers and spamers to keep the addresses clean
                                                    - Optional traffic packages (when exceeding speed Limit of 10Mbit which should still be ok for most homelabs)

World this be interesting? Im aware that many ones already do this by VPS themselves, so this might just be a bit easier and optionally offering whole networks including RIPE personalizations.
